i saw the previews for this movie and started to read the book..., and its VERY good so far. now i did come across 3 or 4 bad words but we have been talking at work and home about it... it raises a lot of questions...
These parents had 2 children and their youngest child gets leukemia at the age of 2... we after seeing their daughter suffer they have a genetecist implant an embryo that was a genetic match to their sick daughter... well this child is now 13 and has donated stem cells and bone marrow to her sister over the years. well now the sister is having kidney failure and the mother wants her to give her sick sister a kidney.. the girl doesnt want to and gets a lawyer.. anyway its really interesting and the movie comes out soon so im hoping to finish it soon!! |

I read the book and I loved it! Jodi Picoult is one of my favorite authors.
I don't want to spoil anything for you, but the ending in the book & the ending in the movie are going to be totally different. I won't tell you how it ends, but Jodi Picoult likes to shake things up at the end. Knowing how the movie will end, I don't know if I want to see it. The author said that she isn't happy about the ending in the movie, once she turned the project over to the movie studio they can do whatever they want basically to change things ![]() |

I hadn't read that one yet. I think I might have it somewhere. Ir ead 19 Minutes and had I known what it was about before I started reading, I probably wouldn't have. I did really like Vanishing Acts. It was more my type.

I have it I picked it up at a yard sale & it is really good. If I make it to picnic I will bring it but I doubt I will but you are still welcome to it next time I see you. I didn't know they were making a movie but if they change the ending then I doubt I will bother with until it comes to the redbox....that really stinks!!

I love Jodi Piccoult. I read My Sister's Keeper a few years ago; it's a great book. One of the things I love about Jodi Piccoult is how her books end. I'm not sure I would want to see the movie if it has a totally different ending than the book.
![]() Flutterby, I actually finished reading 19 Minutes the day before the VA Tech shooting... talk about creepy! ![]()

She has a new book out, Handle With Care. I'm off to the library today to return Kite Runner (GREAT book, BTW) and I want to see if they have it.
Chmom- that's one of things I like about her books too, the ending, and the fact that her books are about topics that are pretty hot. Sometimes I think I that I would do things a different way and then she really gets you thinking. Love it! |

Speaking of which, has anyone who saw (and loved, like me) the original movie "The Women" seen the remake? What did you think of it?
