Default Starting a Beachmom's Book Club

Good Morning,
I started a new thread under a different title so others could see what we were talking about.

So, we've narrowed down the book to: "Left To Tell: Discovering God Amidst the Rwandan Holocaust" and are talking about meeting at the Milton Library the 1st week of Nov. to chat about Chapter 1.

Thursday Nov. 6th doesn't work as it's "return day" (i need to read up on that one, as it's a new holiday for me!) so what other day works for everyone? How about Friday 7th or Saturday 8th ?

Any other ideas? I'll be away for the weekend, but maybe if everyone could sumit their ideas in that time by early next week we can firm up a date?
Have a great weekend!

I am so excited that we're doing this.
Milton Library closes at 5 on Fridays. Are we still talking about meeting in the evening? They are open until 8:00 pm Monday through Thursday. Perhaps w/ all that's going on this week we could meet next week instead? This would also give everyone time to get their hands on the book and get some reading done. Just an idea.

Hi! Would love to join in. I'll be out of town this weekend, but next week would be a possibility. Any idea which local bookstores are carrying the book?

I like the idea of next week, too much going on this week.

I got the book from the library yesterday & I'm half way through. This is a really great book, I don't want to put it down.

Good Morning! Sounds like next week works for everyone else, I'm out of town for work and family stuff for almost all of Nov., except this week.... so next week is out for me, but go ahead and do the 1st part of the book next week and then I'll join in for the Dec. meeting and will be reading the book in the meantime.

I filled out the form at the Milton Library and left it for the head librarian to review. I assume she will get back to me with a list of dates that are available and you can pick from there. Check back- I will post as soon as I know something.

I have been thinking about joining a book club. I will keep checking in to see when the first meeting will be. I am not yet sure where the Library is but I can look it up.

Got the book yesterday and have read only a couple of pages so far. Can't wait for our 1st meeting.

I heard from the library and we have been approved!!! They have to following dates available:
Nov. 17 & 19 and Dec. 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 10 & 11. The library is open 10 am - 8 pm Monday - Thursday. They are only open until 5 on Friday's, but I understand that may change to 8 pm at some point.

Let me add that Dec.3 is the Milton Christmas Parade, you may not want to meet then. And while I may not have a chance to read a book between now and then, should anyone want to meet for dinner before or after at Irish Eyes in Milton (only a few doors down from the library), we can make that work.
